Gränna is the capital of a Swedish speciality - Polkagrisar. The sweet candy founds back to 1859, when Amalia eriksson invented the sticks, whic originally were white-red and was peppermitn flavored. "Polkagris" means "Polka pig", deriving from "pig" used as a word for candy at that time, and Polka coming from the twisting dance - twisted as the red and white colors of the candy.
