The Citroën 2CV had many nicknames. The French one was "Dedeuche", an abbreviation and minimization of the French "deux chevaux" - "two horses". 2CV = deux chevaux. Chevaux stands for horse power - so translated the car would be called "2 horsepower". The used English nicknames were less charming: "Flying Dustbin" or "Tin Snail" were common.
