SIGHTS & LOCATIONS Les Baux-de-Provence is one of the most picturesque villages of the Provence with lots of touristic attractions, shops, art, food and an amazing ruined castle area featuring live shows with knights and catapults - better plan a whole day for a visit Saint Rémy de Provence is a charming town in the heart of the Provence. Try to visit during market hours and use the clamer towns afterwards to wander through the narrow little streets or the boulevards and places. The page also contains and overview on markets days of other towns. Gordes also ranges in the list of the most beautiful villages in Provence. It offers narrow streets, a catle now serving as art museum, a heritage of many well-known artists. It also amazes looking from the outside with it's houses leaning against a large rock in the most picturesque way. The Abbaye Notre-Dame de Sénanque - very close to Gordes - is a Cistercian abbey with awesome lavender fields in front of the impressive buildings. Sainte Marie de la mer - the capitol of the Camargue region - is highly touristic and well known for it's Gypsies' Pilgrimage to worship their Saint, Sara the Black.
