Sightings in Idaho

"It was a hot day in Coeur d'Alene and this bull moose wandered into our neighborhood for some apple trees, shade, and a nap with a cat! We had a Bull Moose visit our neighborhood three days ago (September, 2011). I got to watch him for 2.5 hours before going to work, and when I came home in the evening he was still there munching on all the trees! Kelly."

"I live in Haiser where a calf moose made its bed in my front yard for about three hours last night. I first noticed 'it' when I let my dog out. He came but stood by the door and looking out. Then I heard this "thumping" on my back deck. I looked out and came nose to nose with the moose. I kept a watch on it and finally it seemed to have left, but I just went out on my side deck in the front yard and there it was again. It had to have jumped a six foot wood fence to get there. She (I'm calling her Bullwinkle or BW) stayed there for several hours until it started snowing again. Julie."

"We have been getting a lot of snow in Idaho Falls this year. A momma and baby moose found their way into the back yard a couple of weeks ago. Fish and game tagged their ear and moved them. It will be interesting to see if they show up again next year. They pruned all of our fruit trees. They ate all of the apples and pears that were left for the birds. We miss seeing them in the back yard. I have to say it was one of our "favorite" things. Laurette."
"This picture was taken on our property outside of Athol. I had seen this bull moose in July on an evening walk and the next morning he was in our camp. I did not get pictures then as I was too busy getting the children out of bed at 5:30am to "see the moose."
I was glad when he again decided to grace our camp in September. This time I was prepared with my digital camera. My husband and dog had just been outside so I was quite surprised to look out the window (before I went out) and see a moose looking back in at me! I whispered "moose" and grabbed my camera and snuck out the door once he began to move away from our trailer. He allowed me several good pictures before he left. Unfortunately, I did not get one of him checking out the empty Moose Drool Ale case. That would have been a fun picture! Linda."
"In our quest for moose in northern Idaho, we had the chance to see something very unusual. We were driving down an old 4 wheel drive road and came around the corner to the place you'll see in the picture we've attached... a mom moose with two babies. The moose were heading down the road and ran into the woods as we approached around the corner. I just got this quick shot before they left the road and disappeared. I thought you'd like it."
"I live in northern Idaho and this has been very hot. I had some freinds over for cold drinks and to swim in our pool. We had an un-expected guest that wanted to joint in the fun and drinks. This moose had a 1700 gallon drink. She had no problem that we were on the patio feet away... Steve."
